"Give me a message- something to think about on Tu b'shvat", my friend begged me as we bumped into each other at Evergreen today. Of course! So much to think about today. It's the Birthday of the Trees... Happy Birthday- but how could it be?? they all look so drabby and bare? Where's the party look? and we all ask ourselves every now and then, where is the promise of a "blissful Blended Family " under the care of a "blissful Remarried Couple"?

At times, it all seems so far-fetched, so complicated, so unclear??

Yes, dear parents of Blended Families- It may seem to you that it looks like there isn't any movement, any blending so to speak, any fruits for your labor - But deep down underneath it all... You are laying the Groundwork for a Beautiful Tree to blossom when the time is right. It is precisely now when you feel like - I'm not seeing anything for my efforts, for all the times I swallow so hard, or look the other way or bend myself over in a pickle to be compassionate, ever-forgiving, unnaturally caring and loving... YET these are the vital Nutrients needed to nurture and fortify our children on their journey of becoming a family Unit.

Keep AT it - Do whatever it takes, but most importantly; Don't ever Neglect The Core of this Beautiful and Busy Tree- Your Marriage. For if your Marriage is strong at the Core, It can and will Beezras Hshem weather the inevitable challenges!

Today: LET'S FOCUS ON DOING SOMETHING SPECIAL FOR EACH OTHER; SOMETHING TO STRENGTHEN THE BOND OF LOVE.

TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY TO TUNE INTO EACH OTHER AND THANK FOR THE EFFORTS MADE ON BEHALF OF OUR CHILDREN!
